The researchers gave participants in the study a description of a person to read. Everyone got the same description. After reading, the participants were asked if they liked the person or not.

When the participants were in the elevator that would take them to the lab, a researcher had in one hand, some papers, and in the other hand, either an iced coffee or a warm coffee. About a year and a half ago, I became fascinated with stuckness. My interest arose from a combination of factors – clients who were unable to move forward despite having a clear and logical plan, the political situation around the world, in which many seem to be reaching into the past rather than imagining a positive future and, well, my own stuckness. Since selling a tech startup back in 2013, I’ve done lots and lots of stuff, but personally, I felt rather stuck.
Ironically, it was my passion for stuckness that finally got me unquestionably unstuck. It led me to become a Strategic Intervention coach and it led me to create The Unstuck Project with a goal of interviewing 100 people about their own experiences with stuckness.

It's no secret that the world is changing at an unprecedented pace. From blockchain to artificial intelligence, robotics to 3-D Printing, there’s lots to be excited about.
At the same time, climate change, political upheaval and economic disruption threaten to upend the world as we know it. There's lots to be uncertain about. And the trouble with uncertainty is that it leads to fear. And fear puts us in a contractive, reactive, entrenched state. We become stuck. And that ain’t good.
Stuckness leads to reduced adaptability and competitiveness, decreased employee engagement and effectiveness, less ability to attract great talent, and of course, decreased creativity, productivity and profit.
Above all, it leads to creating results and situations that no one wants.
